Hi gang. So sorry that once again I am not going to get back to Akron for the party! The hospital I work at always seems to be going through a review late July or early August. I support the Birth Center, Cardiology and the Emergency Department.  I'm a senior project manager in the quality; always hoping that the senior refers to my level of experience and not my age! My hubby and I making plans for early retirement maybe by mid 2010. Our daughter just graduated from college in psychology and managed to land a full time job in her field. Our son graduate 2 years ago and is in the process of moving with his girlfriend to Syracuse for graduate school. Have a wonderful 60th Birthday blast!

What a fun surprise to find this website.  I am now living in Culpeper, Virginia, on a small farm.  I am still practicing as a trademark attorney (as they say, I'll  keep practicing and one day I will get it right!).  My husband, Barry, grows organic vegetables.  Having lots of good times living the small town life.  I would love to make the reunion and will give it a try.

I wandered onto your website (thanks for the link, Yvonne!) -- I had so much fun reading it and looking at the pictures! We're looking forward to our BHS Class of 1970 reunion in 2010...with the way time flies, it's not that far off! I just wanted to say hello to all the grads who vacated BHS right before we landed. Cheers, Dolli (Rankin, Perkins, BHS '70).

Hi Everyone! My shout out is to each and everyone of you! It's been a real challenge to 'work' on the website, search for 'lost' classmates, and heart-wrenching to find out that we've lost contact with one another. My Mom said to me the other day 'Time is winding down for us'. I pray that all of us find the 'joy of and in the LORD'. C U L8R

Yvonne and Beverly, You are "dears" to keep the Class of 1967 together and informed. Thanks for your energy and spirit. Beverly, kudos to you in being part of the Reunion Experience. Regrettably, I will be unable to attend. I had a heart attack in May and, I am feeling fine. No open heart surgery, thank goodness, I did have a couple of coronary artery stents put-in. This is my second heart attack...I had one in 2000. As I look at the email distribution list, I think of the really good experiences that I had in my youth. So many good people I had the pleasure of befriending, and many good times while growing-up. Class of 1967--Thanks for the Memories. Yvonne and Beverly, please give my warm regards to the Class, and enjoy the 40th Celebration! Best Regards, Frank Chimielinski P.S. If anyone travels to the Charlotte, NC area, please give me a call. It would be great to see you and welcome y'all to the south.

I'm looking forward to this event. Afterall, a 40 year reunion only comes around once. Since the time of Buchtel, I visit Akron periodically after first moving to Tucson AZ some 30 years ago. For the past 4 years, however, I've been living and working on the Monterey Peninsula CA. Thanks to everyone who put this party together. See you there. Dennis

Thanks for your prodding on the reunion. I've gotten regular prods about it too from Sue Caro and Linda Haught Robb. Unfortunately our schedule for the summer doesn't enable me to come so I'll have to plan ahead for the 50th reunion. As someone who fondly recalls most of life at Buchtel I appreciate the hard work committee members have put into this and do hope the event is a huge success. I look forward to seeing photos and hearing second hand tales.

The 4 years we spent together in high school seem like such a short time when you think we have been around for 58 but I know that all of us have made friends for life. I'm currently in North Carolina and not sure if I can make it this time. If not...I'll sure be thinking of you. Had such a great time at the 20th, 30th, and 35th. Nice job on the website and all of your hard work, reunion committee. My best to all of you! Mickie

Hi, I was the exchange-student from Finland and graduated that year with all of you. I am coming with my husband to see everybody. I have been a private dentist almost all of my life but since 5 years back I have worked mainly as a supervisor or a psychological consultant for health organizations. Is there maybe someone else, who would have done this work within dentistry and could share experiences with me? I am also teaching part-time in the university educating new supervisors. Then I am on call for one week in two months for giving debriefing for people in sudden unexpected crisis. This is on volontary basis. I have been doing that soon in 10 years. In my marriage for 34 years we have two daughters and a son. The girls are over 30 years and have their own lives but no grand-children, yet. Our son is still living at home, beeing 23 years and is a musician playing guitar as his main instrument. We are really looking forward to meet everybody and to have a chance to come to USA for a good reason. It is 15 years since I have been there and for my husband it is his first time overseas. Thank you for the reunion committee for your work and see you everybody there! With Love, Liisa Heimo-Vuorimaa

-It 's been a great ride for the last 40 years (and the previous 18,too). As I read this guest book, I can't believe that it has been this long. There are so many of you that I would like to have dinner with and spend an evening "catching up". Unfortunately, that won't happen, as I can not make this years event do to family obligations. I'm sick about it, but.... This is a wonderful web site and my thanks to those of you who took the time (and the expertice) to do this job. I've been at the same job since 1971, and still love what I do, so retirement for me is not an option. Hope you all are lucky enough to feel the same. See you next time!

Hello everyone! I live in Dallas and have a wonderful wife and 4 children. I am very impressed with the website. All of the committee members have done a great job with all of the reunions and I must say that you have all out done yourselves this time! My passion has always playing the drums and my wonderful wife convinced me to join a band. My last gig was 34 years ago and I am now in a Rock Band. Please check out our website at www.myspace.com/radiovox. I told my wife that I am going through my mid-life crises and she said Honey you are way passed that! I am really excited about seeing all of you in July.

Go Griffs! Hope everyone is well and getting better. Can't believe it's been 40 years. You guys are getting old! I stay young by avoiding mirrors. I'm still in Phoenix. It was only 107 today. I won't be able to make the reunion this year so please tip one for me. I'll try to get back that way this fall. Drinks are on Louie Farris. Visited the Memoriam page. Damn! Too bad about the Cavs, but they got there and they will be back. I've got a "Witness" t-shirt and a Cavaliers cap. You'd be surprised how many people from that area are out here. My bartender went to Kent State. I'm in touch periodically with Yvonne Brooks, Beverly Burton Lee and Jim Mallo. I even talked to Frank Carson this morning. Felt good about that all day. Props to the Lady Griffs track team! I still read the Beacon Journal online and my brother, Fred, keeps me informed about the old metropolis. I've got to go now. It's Friday and my bartender gets nervous when I'm late. Have a great time at the reunion everyone. Be safe, be well and God Bless. Giss.

Hi everyone, It's wonderful to read all your messages and keep in touch. How can it possibly have been 40 years?? My husband and I have 3 terrific sons, ages 19 , 22 and 24. We're all going to the Outer Banks this summer, and unfortunately it's the week of the reunion -- I think this will be the first one I've missed! I long ago "retired" from teaching English, and I've spent most of the past years being involved with the kids' activities. I also work part-time in medical billing. We live in Strongsville, Ohio, so I've never gone too far from "home." My best to you all, and have a great time at the reunion!! Wendy

Maybe it's my imagination, but it seems that our class is unusually close-knit. If anything, the camaraderie is stronger now than it was 40 years ago. My thanks and admiration to the reunion committee; among other achievements, this is a great web site. As for me, I've been practicing law in Chicago for the past 30 plus years. I've announced my retirement as of a month prior to our reunion. I am bemused at the question on our questionaire whether we have grandchildren. My son is five years old. Looking forward to seeing all of you in July.

Hi everyone. Wow this website is fabulous. To catch up, I got my teaching degree and taught at Tallmadge High School. In 1977 I started with IBM in Cleveland teaching operating systems and 30 years later, I am still at IBM and loving it. I moved to Dallas Texas in 1983 and in my next life want to be a born Texan. I love this great state and the hot weather. I got my Masters in Liberal Arts from SMU. I have been married for 20 years, one step daughter and 3 cats. For those of you that remember my wonderful Mother, she is 92 and doing GREAT. I am going to try to make the reunion but I have just rented a house for us on Lake Erie for the week of July 28th. I am not sure I can get there a week early for the reunion, but will try.

Hi! My husband, Tim, and I are looking forward to coming to the reunion. We have two children. Marty, our daughter, is a missionary to Slovakia. She teaches English to high school students. Scotty, our son, is married and is planning further education in Great Britain in Early Church History. My mom is still living in Chautauqua, NY where we also have a home. Tim is an attorney, and I have been a homemaker all these years except when we were first married. I taught home economics back then. I have been a sailor and have grown up around boats. We now go out in a motor boat and watch our kids in the sailboat races at Chautauqua. We have a toy poodle ( apricot color) named Cynderella. She is my best friend - so loyal and faithful. We love our church where Dr. R.C. Sproul is pastor. I'm the family photographer and am presently scanning old slides onto my computer. We're looking forward to seeing you all this summer. Warmly yours, Beth Calhoun

Hi to everyone. Can't believe it will be 40 years..... Jim (Severt, class of 66) and I have recently relocated to Columbus Georgia after living in Southern New Jersey for over 30 years. Jim's job with Pratt & Whitney brought us down here where it is warm all year. We are both enjoying the southern hospitality. And for those of you who follow Little League, we were very proud of our local Little League team here in Columbus that won last summer. The whole town was going wild. I am now working as Volunteer Coordinator for a local playhouse called the Springer Opera House and enjoy working with the over 300 volunteers. Our next performance will be The King and I and it will run for 3 weeks and we are almost sold out. Never thought they would hire a "Yankee" but I am glad they did. Jim and I hope to make it to the reunion but it looks like it might be the same weekend as his family reunion in Virginia. If we can't be there, we hope you all enjoy the big event.

Fun to look and see all the names and relive some of the memories. I am still working for the US Forest Service here on the Ottawa National Forest in Upper Peninsula Michigan. I'm still your friendly neighborhood campground ranger unless, of course, you mess up, and then I am your worst nightmare (not really). I got a great job and have had some great experiences. I have won the Secretary of Agriculture’s award for heroism, for the determined search and rescue of a mentally handicapped camper and in November 2001, just after the 9-11 tragedy I had the opportunity to deliver the National Christmas Tree, The Tree of Hope, to the Washington. I hope to be able to attend our rennin and renew old friendships and acquaintances.
