Terrence L. Pearson

Terrence L. Pearson, 57, of Ravenna, died unexpectedly Thursday, July 14, 2005, at the Akron Gener al Medical Center.

Born Dec. 24, 1947, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Oscar and Alys (White) Pearson, he had lived in Ravenna the past 14 years, and proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Terry worked for 17 years for the Summit County Engineers Office and retired from the Portage County Tax Map Department. Being a licensed surveyor in Ohio and Nevada, he was the owner of Pearson Surveying. He was president-elect for the Professional Land Surveyors of Ohio, and a member of the Ravenna Moose.

Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Beth (Bogus) Pear son; son, Nick Pearson of New Orleans, La.; daughters, Heather (Mike) Wright of Ravenna and Laura (Rich) Wayne of Greenville, S.C.; grandchildren, Natalie, Matt, and Jada; sisters, Gloria Donges and Alys Pear son, both of Akron; mother-in-law, June Bogus; brother-in-law, Lon (Wendy) Bogus; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Donald Stein and Oscar Pear son, and sister, Betty Ann Genda.

Calling hours 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2004, at Shorts Funeral Homes, Inc., in Ravenna, where funeral serv ices will be at 1 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2005, Rev. Dr. Judith Wozniak officiating. Burial at Northlawn Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Military honors performed by V.F.W. Post 1055 of Ravenna. Terry was known for his warm heart and generosity and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. (Shorts, 330-296-6858.)
