Vincent J. Biondo, 90, passed away Jan. 30, 2003 at Rockynol Retirement Community.
Born in Santa Ninfa, Sicily on July 17, 1912 to Frank and Vitina Biondo, he immigrated to the U.S. in 1921. He graduated with honors from both North High School and the University of Akron College of Liberal Arts and College of Education, where he was a Pixley Scholar of English his sophomore year and a member of the Phi Sigma Alpha honorary society. Walter was the loving husband to the late Edith; he was the beloved son of the late Catherine and Stephen;
loving brother of Helen Blateric, Violet Blateric and the late Paul; dearest uncle of Stephen L.; dear friend of many.
Funeral Services will be held Friday Dec. 21, 12 noon at the CATAVOLOS FUNERAL HOME, 3653 W. Market Street, Fairlawn, where the family will receive friends 10 a.m. until time of service.

Shirley was born in Akron, Ohio on February 10, 1949. She was a beloved daughter born of the blessed union of Oather L. Burney, Sr. and Lucille Burney. Shirley attended Buchtel High School, graduating in 1967. She later attended Tri-State Bible College. Shirley was deeply concerned for the well-being of others and was employed by Portage Path Mental Health Center where she retired in 2015 after 30 years of service.
